Salary & Payroll Calculations and ongoing assistance
Having upfront knowledge of both the total likely cost of an assignment/relocation as well as the net pay position of the employee concerned is crucial to both the employer and the employee alike. Depending on the tax policy governing the move, we are able to provide:

Pre-Arrival/Departure Tax Briefings
When moving from one country to another, tax is often one of the less pressing, yet more confusing aspects of the relocation for the individual concerned, especially when paying tax in a new country for the first time. At TAP, we seek to make this as simple and straight forward for the individual as possible.
As part of the briefing process, we will:
- Meet with the individual and discuss the UK tax and social security implications, including any steps to take and records to keep to maximise any tax reliefs available. We will also answer all their questions pertaining to their personal situation, and ensure they are fully briefed on any personal obligations and deadlines.
- Register the individual with HMRC, if required, or inform them of their departure from the UK.
- Provide a high level written summary to the individual, and employer action, if required.
We can also offer a combined service with an international partner to provide a joined up service between home and host locations.
UK Self-Assessment tax return assistance
Typically, any individual leaving or coming to the UK will have an obligation to file a self-assessment tax return to inform HMRC that they have left or arrived in the UK and reconcile their position for the year. Depending on their personal circumstances, they may also have an obligation to file a tax return for future tax years.
We are able to offer UK tax return services to your employees as part of their relocation/assignment package, or part of a flexible benefit scheme should they have some choice over how their relocation budget is used. We can also offer a joined up service with our international partners to provide a combined service in home and host locations.
