Kim joined the Tax Advisory Partnership in February 2024 working within the corporate tax team in the Leeds office, as a Corporate Tax Manager.
Kim's career in tax started after successfully completing a bachelor’s in law degree over 20 years ago. She was initially assigned to work within the private client team, overseeing a portfolio of OMB and SME clients. As a key member of the tax team, she managed a portfolio of clients of varying complexity, providing support and advice to the individual shareholders/directors and the wider family on renumeration tax planning, capital gains tax , identifying their residence status and inheritance tax planning. With a background in private client tax, Kim had identified a need to provide holistic tax advice to the clients, which should extend not only to the individual directors/shareholders of the SME/OMB but also to the company. Kim enjoys working with the high net worth clients in providing them with the holistic tax advice and ensuring that the tax legislation and the strict statutory deadlines are adhered to. Where possible she look at identifying tax relief available to the Company with the focus on mitigating the tax liabilities through proactive tax planning.
With the ever-changing regulations and tax rules, Kim love the challenge in resolving complex tax issues that require careful thought and planning. The most rewarding part of her job is building and maintaining a close working relationship with the existing clients and being able to support them in their vision and being part of their journey. Seeing the clients succeed and knowing that she has played a part in delivering a high-quality service to the clients makes the work more worth while. In addition Kim has also been successful in procuring new clients.
Outside of her professional life, Kim's passion is travel. She enjoys visiting new destinations, and immersing herself in the local cultures around the world and discovering the unexpected. She has been fortunate in being able to fulfil her dream and to share her love of travel with her family, but naturally there are so many destination still out there waiting to be explored.
